From March 10 to 15, Quimper comes to life and vibrates with its annual Hivernautes festival. On this occasion, culture penetrates in the industrial landscape of the Vieux Théâtre. With an urban metamorphosis in full swing, the prefecture of Finistère began the transformation of its centenary theater into a real cultural hub: the Pôle Max Jacob. Thus, this 14th edition of the festival will naturally adopt the "building site" as theme and inspiration.
Alternative and international rock perform in this festival, making it a must in the Breton landscape. The music of artists such as Deerhoof, Carson Hill, Manacoustic or Von Pariah comes in succession on the stage of Breizh. The lovers of the big screen may appreciate the rock opera by Franc Roddam "Quadrophenia", the documentary "Lou Reed, Berlin" by Morgan Nevile or even "Sugar Man" by Malik Benjelloul at Le Quai Dupleix cinema.
Finally, Quimper will be shaped by Niklas Fourré and his Chantier (A sequence of creations about the project of the future Max Jacob theater), with the plastic works of Elodie Lesourd ("Eleventh Walk"), but also those of Sylvie Le Gac and Stephane Tesson.
Whether it is for a dream "malouinière", a house on the seashore, a dive into history or a jump in the modern and urban universe of the region, Brittany is, without a doubt, a land that deserves to be visited.
