FESTIVITY: Illuminated Biarritz, sparkling Christmas

This year, as usual, the Christmas holidays are shining thanks to "Biarritz en Lumières", the ninth edition of which takes hold of the city from December 20 to January 4.

Famous holiday resort, Biarritz has always known how to value its environment and its territory. If the city owes its prestige to activities such as golf, surfing and the quality of its services, the success of the annual appointment of the festival of lights contributes to its triumph.

From December 20th to January 4th, the festive lighting of "Biarritz en Lumières" reappears. Every night from 6 pm to 11 pm, and for 16 magical nights, the walls and buildings of the city will be the backdrop to an enchanting spectacle.

The love story between Biarritz and the lights has been going on for forever. In the early 2000s, Pierre Bideau, the famous creator of the lighting of the Eiffel Tower, illuminated its coastal space. Thus, Biarritz becomes a showcase of excellence. Then, almost ten years ago, the town becomes even more colorful with the opening of the Jardin des Rocailles, the Clémenceau Square and the Bellevue Square. It is thanks to this success that "Biarritz en Lumières" was born.

Since then, every year has its own part of surprises. Encouraged and celebrated, international artists offer to the public original creations, lighting of buildings, shows and parades. Saint-Eugénie Square, Bellevue Square, Casino, the Midi train station or the public gardens are transformed into a theater of sound and light. Animated by the spirit of Christmas, the event brings to life fairytales and feeds a magic already brought by the nativity scene, the Christmas market, and the several performances on the roads.
