MILAN 2015: An expo to feed the planet

From 1st May to 31st October 2015, the universal Exhibition in Milan invites you to think and create a better world.

Like any world fair, Expo Milano 2015 is an opportunity to discover the latest technological innovations and the excellence of each country. The greatest inventions have been presented in world fairs, like the lift in New York in 1853 or the phone in 1876 in Philadelphia. However, Expo Milano 2015 is not the location of a mere technology demonstration but also a platform for creation, a sharing of ideas and solutions in order to respond to a global issue: "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life".

A breathtakingly large surface of 110 hectares, 148 countries and organizations involved, 60.000 employees and 20 million visitors expected during seven months on a site that looks like a real city... the Expo Milano 2015 employed all means to achieve its ambitious project. This project aims to establish an international cooperation to improve the people lives in harmony with nature, to struggle against hunger and change the world.

Expo Milano 2015 is divided into several thematic areas including the Open Air Theater and the Lake Arena, which are located on the cardinal points of the site. Two main axes allow the access to the different national pavilions and cluster (international groups). In these latter, many countries present their products and agro-industrial traditions, from coffee to spices passing through cereals. The areas such as the Future Food District, the exhibitions "Arts & Foods", the competitions like the Short Movies Food and the clusters regarding the Dry Areas or the Islands, invite the visitor to the awareness of the fragility and beauty of our planet. Through knowledge and entertainment, Expo Milano 2015 awakens human sensitivity.
