SLIDES: Sun and sand, the world's most beautiful beaches

Earth is crammed with wonderful mountainous landscapes and seascapes. The following beaches are among the most beautiful in the world, sometimes too famous, sometimes still secret.

/ Located on the island of La Digue, Seychelles, the Anse Source d'Argent beach looks like a movie script with its white sand, giant rocks polished by the sea and palm trees.

/ The Aharen beach on the Japanese island of Takashiki, offers an endless sea of clear water to bathers.

/ In Palawan Island, the Philippines, the fine sand of El Nido, hidden among rocks and verdant cliffs, is the only guardian of the intimacy of the place, accessible only by water.

/ Once again, Brazil is showcasing its incredible landscapes. At Lençois Maranhense National Park, a desert of dunes and lagoons forms a multitude of idyllic micro beaches.

/ Thailand is famous for its fine sand beaches and its dreamlike landscape. Railay Beach is hardly less so and fully deserves its place in the list of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

/ White coastline and turquoise water make us dream of owning a house by the sea in Greece. The cove of Navagio with its cliffs that surround an idyllic beach with its emblematic wreck, is one of the highlights of Zakynthos island.

/ The beach of Whitehaven certainly has the right name. In the heart of the Coral Sea, this Australian beach located in the Whitsunday Islands, reveals all the shades of blue and nacre that you can imagine.

/ It takes another environment and hemisphere to witness the breathtaking spectacle of the union between the volcanic sand and the enchanted colors of dusk, in Reynisfjara Beach near Vik Iceland.

/ The water is chilly, but glaciers and sea otters at the black sand beach of Prince William Sound in Alaska are gems to be seen again and again.
