Seafront Prestigious Villa in Kontokali, Corfu – ID 2308711

Set directly on the waterfront in “Gerekou Island”, Kontokali, this distinguished seafront villa for sale offers an exceptional expression of coastal living in one of Corfu’s most attractive residential settings. Occupying a 1,180 sq.m. seafront plot, the property comprises 235 sq.m. of living space and combines generous proportions, carefully selected natural materials and an intimate relationship with the surrounding sea and landscape. Renovated in 2016, the main residence has been designed with an emphasis on quality, warmth and timeless character rather than passing trends. This 2-level property features 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, providing comfortable accommodation for family living as well as extended stays on the island. Particular attention has been given to the materials used throughout the home. The kitchen is crafted from solid Canadian cherry wood, a rich natural material that brings depth and refinement to the interior. The same commitment to craftsmanship extends to the property’s doors and windows, reinforcing a sense of continuity and quality throughout the residence. Every element has been selected to create a home that feels substantial, elegant and authentic to its setting. A particularly valuable feature is the independent guest studio, separate from the main residence. Complete with its own kitchenette and private bathroom, it provides genuine flexibility. It may serve as private accommodation for guests, friends or household staff while allowing both the main household and its visitors to retain their independence. This separation is especially appealing for buyers seeking a Mediterranean home capable of accommodating different generations or longer guest stays without compromising privacy. Yet the defining quality of the property is its seafront setting. Here, the water is not simply a distant view but an integral part of the atmosphere of the home. The coastal surroundings create an ever-changing natural backdrop, bringing light, reflections and movement into everyday life and establishing the sense of calm that makes waterfront property in Corfu so compelling. The wider setting adds another dimension to the experience. Kontokali lies on the Gulf of Gouvia, close to Corfu Town and the marina at Gouvia, combining a peaceful coastal character with convenient access to some of the island’s most important destinations. The area also has a notable environmental identity. The Kontokali marsh is a protected small island wetland, recognised as a coastal natural wetland and habitat area. This presence of water, wetland vegetation and birdlife contributes to the distinctive natural character of the surrounding landscape. “Gerekou Island”, is a recognised part of the Kontokali coastal setting. Its residential character, waterfront homes and proximity to the sea give it an atmosphere that feels pleasantly removed from the intensity of a conventional resort, while remaining within easy reach of Corfu’s capital. This balance is particularly important for an international buyer. Kontokali is located approximately 6.5 km from Corfu Town, while the neighbouring Gouvia area is home to the island’s established marina environment. As a result, the property can function equally well as a refined permanent residence, a sophisticated second home or a private family retreat for buyers who value proximity to Corfu Town without wishing to sacrifice the tranquillity of a waterfront setting. What ultimately distinguishes this residence is the combination of qualities rarely experienced in isolation: 1,180 sq.m. of seafront land, 235 sq.m. of living space, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an independent guest studio, a 2016 renovation and carefully chosen solid-wood craftsmanship, all within a particularly evocative coastal environment. It is a home conceived not simply around its interiors, but around the experience of living beside the Ionian Sea, waking to the changing light over the water, observing the birdlife of the surrounding coastal landscape and enjoying the privacy and rhythm of an established waterfront neighbourhood. For buyers searching for a high-end seafront villa in Corfu, particularly within convenient reach of Corfu Town and Gouvia, this property presents a compelling combination of location, craftsmanship, independent guest accommodation and direct connection with the island’s natural environment.
