Agios Onoufrios is a small coastal village on the Akrotiri peninsula, 8 km north of Chania. The village is actually a suburb of Chania as it is very close to the city. It is named after the small chapel next to the beach dedicated to Saint Onoufrios whose festival takes place on June 12th. Agios Onoufrios beach is quiet and hidden in a well-protected bay. It is sandy and not very well organized. It is mainly preferred by residents of the wider area.
