Located in the historic region of Parteolla, bordering southern Campidano, Donori lies between two rivers on the slope of Monte Zurru and has just over two thousand inhabitants. Once a mining center, as the remains of the former Monteponi mine attest, Donori has today, thanks to the fertility of the surrounding hilly area and the abundance of water, a strong agricultural and pastoral vocation: cereals, olive oil, wines, including cannonau and bovale, and a renowned dairy production are its main agri-food products. The former granatic mountain in the village centre, now used for exhibitions, testifies to the antiquity of the agro-pastoral tradition.
