Article 49
General standards
In agro-forestry areas, the settlement of populations and their dignity must, whenever possible, be supported through incentives for agricultural or forestry use that is more appropriate to the
protection and recovery of soil, with uses that destroy their potential being prohibited.

Forest spaces
1 — The use of land in forest areas is subject to compliance with the following:
1.1 — Laurissilva and other types of natural forest and bushland - the use of land in these areas cannot affect or compromise the designated protection functions, only considering forestry support facilities and circulation on regional roads as permissible, with private building being prohibited ;
1.2 — Exotic forest and mixed forest - these spaces accommodate various activities in the area of agriculture and forestry, and can accommodate structuring equipment, complying with the buildability parameters foreseen for the different activities, and supported by environmentally sustainable studies.
