Asteria Villa is one of three properties in a three-villa development, set on the hilltop of a charming traditional village, offering an immediate, hassle-free option for holiday villa or year-round living.
With dramatic views across the gorge to the White Mountains and sea views towards Rethymno, this newly built house has been designed to fit perfectly into this traditional village and rural landscape. It has its own character and has beautiful private outdoor areas and a private swimming pool. The house is already successfully rented out as holiday accommodation and is also ideal for several families or friends who want to stay together in combination with the neighboring Villa Aphrodite.
Ground floor:
In typical Cretan “upside-down” design (to make the most of the view from the living area and to keep the sleeping areas cool/warm) you enter the hallway. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The patio doors lead to the garden and pool area. Bedroom 2 has two single beds and an ensuite bathroom as well as access to the garden area.
1st floor:
The open plan living area has been cleverly designed to provide maximum comfort and space, with the fitted kitchen and dining area at one end and the living room at the other. Double patio doors lead onto the dining area with a balcony overlooking the sea and mountains. An outside staircase leads down to the pool and garden area with a small koi pond and the soothing sounds of the rock waterfalls, occasionally punctuated by goat bells as they roam over the hills.
Outdoor Area: Parking is available in front of the villa and as with the other villas, the lush green gardens surrounding the private pool and outdoor dining/kitchen areas provide a small oasis in which to while away your days. The hidden koi pond provides additional peace and quiet. The villa is adjacent to the owner's villa on the right.
Location:
The villas are just a three-minute walk from the center of this charming little village, where there is a year-round cafenion frequented by both locals and the occasional tourist for its small plates and cool local wine and beer. Within 5 to 10 minutes by car you can reach some of the most beautiful and traditional villages in the region, such as Paidachori, Pemonia, Tzizifes and Vamos, all known for their beautiful hiking trails and paths amidst the greenest landscapes. A scenic 20 minute drive will take you to Kalives or Almyrida beach, the town of Chania with its harborside restaurants and unique atmosphere is just 30 minutes away by car.
