A lot of natural materials were used in construction: timber doors and windows; stone and tiled floors; ceilings supported by heavy timber beams with a backdrop of bamboo; olive wood and cement arches; and numerous wood and stone features, curved niches and clever storage spaces are incorporated throughout the building. The owner is an artist, so the house features many windows to let in the natural light, and these make the house feel very spacious indeed.

On the ground floor, the main entrance door leads into a large and welcoming dining area, which connects to the living room, kitchen, and a corridor to the first floor. On the first floor, there is a large main bedroom with ample clothes storage, and a roomy ensuite bathroom accessed via an arch and some low stone steps. There is also the owner's light and airy studio (which could be used as a very large bedroom). From these two rooms, there is a long narrow balcony on the west and north sides of the house offering beautiful views, which eventually widens out on the west side of the house, where the guest ccommodation is located.

The guest accommodation comprises a wide balcony with sea and mountain views for relaxing / dining outside, two separate and large guest bedrooms each with clothes storage, and shared bathroom facilities. There is also a double store room, and a room with a washing machine.

From the guest accommodation, there are independent steps down to the large east courtyard, which has a vine-shaded pergola, stone-flagged floors, mature fruit and flowering trees, ferns and a large variety of shrubs. This courtyard also leads directly to the road and parking /external dining areas, so guests do not need to disturb the house owners at all.

To the front of the house, is a large shaded parking area for at least 2 cars, and a vine-shaded courtyard for al fresco sitting / dining.

To the west and rear sides of the house, the ground rises steeply about 30 metres in height, and the designers took this into account. Near road level, there is a lower west courtyard area, with a vine-shaded pergola surrounded by fruit and flowering trees, flowers and shrubs. A few stone steps lead to the upper west courtyard, which features seating areas for the beautiful sea views, and a huge old olive tree for shade.

From here, it is a magical experience to explore the gardens via several stone paths set among a myriad of trees, plants and flowers, leading ever upwards: firstly to a small cave with a seating / viewing area, then to a viewing platform at the highest point of the gardens. Other stone paths lead back down towards either the main house or the guest accommodation: the gardens can be enjoyed from either part of the building.
