Almost 200 real estate projects are expected to be completed by 2020, whether residential or in real urban centres. If some are already delivered, others are available on the market off the plan or under construction. To redesign the Miami Skyline, it was necessary to release huge budgets: $10 billion for the Downtown district, $5 billion for Brickell or $2.5 billion to reinvent the Biscayne corridor...
To carry out their ambitious projects, the developers called on the world's leading architects such as Bjarke Ingels, Enrique Norten and Nicholas Grimshaw. In Downtown, for example, Zaha Hadid designed the futuristic curves of the 1000 Museum and Bernardo Fort-Brescia is building the SkyRise Miami. In Miami Beach, Rem Koolhas became interested in the Faena Arts Center and Herzog and de Meuron designed the luxury residence Jade Signature. In the Brickell district, Sieger and Suarez made the plans for 1010 Brickell while the Echo Brickell was designed by Carlos Ott.
SkyRise Miami
The future Miami tower is undoubtedly one of the most impressive construction projects in this long list. For the mayor, Carlos Gimenes, it will be the symbol of the city, "the SkyRise Miami will become the Eiffel Tower of Miami". Built by developer Jeff Berkowitz on the plans of Bernardo Fort-Brescia's Arquitectura studio, the work began in 2014.
The completion of the SkyRise Miami is estimated for 2023. Nearly $430 million will be required to finance this construction, which has a metal structure of approximately 30,000 tonnes. Bungee jumping, SkyDrop, SkyRise Flying theatre, shopping centre, restaurants, reception rooms, conference rooms and observation decks, SkyRise Miami will offer outstanding services and activities.
Miami World Center
In the heart of Downtown, the Miami World Center covers 11 hectares and is a gigantic luxury residential and commercial complex. His plans include the development of a large pedestrian avenue (the 7th Street Promenade) lined with bars and restaurants.
More than 1,000 units are under construction and the project's largest residential tower, the Paramount (58 floors), has been delivered in 2018. Miami World Center is also a 70,000 sqm shopping centre and a major tourist centre thanks to the construction of the Marriot Marquis World (1800 rooms and a 55,740 sqm convention centre).
Brickell City Center
The future centre of Brickell offers 50 hectares of residential, hotel and commercial space. Developed by Bouygues and designed by Arquitectura, the project includes two residential towers (Reach and Rise Towers), a third to house the East Hotel, a shopping centre and a Climate Ribbon, an eco-climatic roof to protect the outer lane from heat and sun.
1000 Museum
Signed by the famous Zaha Hadid, the One Thousand Museum residence was completed at the end of 2016. This hyper-luxury building with its fluid lines offers apartments and lofts with a surface area ranging from 400 to 1400 sqm. This is one of the most exclusive residences in the city, which rises to an altitude of 220 metres. The 1000 Museum is an invitation to live in a real work of art.
Jade Signature
Herzog and de Meuron are at the origin of the refined and exceptional design of Jade Signature, the waterfront residential building in Sunny Isles. The services offered are among the best: spa, gym and fitness rooms, reading and music rooms, Club, restaurants, wine bar, beach bar, two swimming pools, private beach...
The common areas, residences, penthouses and villas have spacious interiors and a layout that combines luxury and good taste. A result that is not surprising considering that the interior design was entrusted to Pierre-Yves Rochon. Delivered at the end of 2016, this 198-metre high complex, spread over 57 floors, is already very popular with investors.
All Aboard Florida
The Florida’s major rail project will connect Orlando and Miami in three hours with stops in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. The service between West Palm Beach and Miami opened in 2018. The Miami Central Station provides 140,000 sqm of professional, commercial and tourist space.
PortMiami 2035
The port of Miami, the world's leading cruise port and the leading commercial port in the United States, also deserved a little facelift. No less than $2 billion is invested in the PortMiami 2035 project. Are scheduled: the expansion of cargo and cruise ship capacity, the restoration of the commercial rail network, the creation of a marina for super yachts and creation of a tunnel linking the port to the MacArthur motorway (Watson Island)... All this accompanied by the development of a commercial area on Dodge Island with hotels, restaurants, a shopping centre and offices.
